The Day Approaching…

Word For Today:

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:25

I’m brushing up with my bible for insights, and I am being led in this message. The day of the Lord is frightful to most of us. Whenever you are at the mercy of someone, then it’s really frightful. This is disaster. You will never see it coming.

“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.” – 2 Peter  3:10

Looking in another perspective, is there any other way that you will not be haunted by fears on thinking about Jesus’ second coming? Actually there is. The day of the Lord is like expecting for something great, something big, spectacular, one-of-a-kind. It’s like God is preparing something. And since He’s God, you can’t ask for more.

“But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.” – 2 Peter  3:13

This is how we face His second coming. This is how we face death. Whatever happens first yields the same result. I’d heard a motivational statement saying: “Death is like a dog going back to his master’s house. He will be greeted with a smile and warm embrace.” The moment you close your eyes, then you’re going to rest for a moment. Then you gonna meet God face-to-face. There, everything all around you will be melted away. All your priorities, cares, worries, investments… everything will be irrelevant because it’s between you and God. That’s the full reality of “all things that surround become shadows in the light of You.” When that day come, I hope that you’re not running away in shame, but running towards our Maker with joy and excitement… such joy like never before! Then He will whisper to your ear “welcome home, My child. My good and faithful servant… enter into My rest.”

I ‘ll see you there!
